Doesn't matter food is great
Excellent scratch food. Attentive service. Would have loved to buy a homemade pie but just travelling through.
Pretty good, and really friendly service. We can't hit it very frequently, as it's 100 miles away.
Good food
If you're not a local don't be surprised if they "don't see"you
Such a delicious Sunday breakfast buffet! Definitely worth the stop off of I-70. Cozy place with plenty of character and kind people. Try the apple crumble pie!
Saw a billboard and googled it..💯 % worth the detour. Super friendly service, great pricing... and the FOOD is GREAT. We had the buffet (see photos) all was all yummy! Took a few slices of pie to go.. let me tell you, don't skip the pie or cheesecake! If you're traveling through Kansas, highly recommend this little spot.... then go take a photo with the "World's Largest Czech Egg"✌🏼
How are you going to serve me Sysco food truck gravy with your biscuits and can filling pies with your name? Shame.
I was in town for an overnight conference and stopped in for a fresh piece on homemade pie before I left. The pie was a five star as was the small town service.
I would not recommend any one with a service dog go to the place. In blatant disregard to the American Disabilities Act this place not only questioned my wife beyond the 2 legal questions but to each answer my wife was ridiculed and humiliated by the owner/manager.
Stopped in for breakfast before the big egg!! It was amazing! Got a standard breakfast and some french toast. Do not miss your chance to have their homemade bread, it was delicious! Will definitely stop in again 😃
This place is the coolest. We stopped in for breakfast after our stay at Wilson State Park and got way more than expected. The portions were much more that you typically get at any other restaurant. The staff were all very friendly and the locals that came in were just as friendly. The town has some other cool things to check it so why not grab a meal or dessert. They make homemade ice cream that brought back so many memories.
Fast, friendly service. We love the food and the cozy atmosphere. A stop here is a must if you're ever in or around Wilson, KS!
Yummy food, friendly staff and we had just an excellent experience overall because on top of the good food and service, a kind family paid for our meal because of the hub's Iraqi Freedom hat that he was wearing. Not related to the restaurant, but just gave us a good feeling that we will always remember when we think of this place. So, so sweet!
You're home here
Really really good fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Down home friendly service! Worth the short drive off the highway!
I drive back and forth between Colorado and Missouri several times a year and I always try to stop at Made from Scratch if it's open. Their buffet choices rotate but the Sunday fried chicken is some of the best I've ever had. It's so crispy and juicy. They get crowded and can run out of chicken before they close. The pies are also amazing. The service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. You can fill a carryout container from the buffet for a few dollars.
Great small town USA feel to it. Felt welcomed as soon as I stepped through the door. Great service and food to go with the home feeling. I dont think I ever saw the bottom of my coffee cup.
Real friendly people and really good food!
The best in the Midwest in my opinion!! Great homemade pies as well
Walked in, nobody at counter. Used restroom and came back. The lady working had returned. Ignored me completely for about 2 minutes (not so much as a 'hello' or 'be with you in a sec') while chit-chatting with someone at one of the tables. So I left. Shame. Seems like a good place.
Is this place permanently closed? 9:15 Monday morning and dark as can be. No signs saying anything
We came across this on a business trip. We got there just as they were closing but they still served us. My husband had a burger that tasted like farm to table and I had a fish sandwich. The homemade chips were incredible and the pies are wonderful. Service was great. I will be making a special trip there just to eat here.
Hash browns out of this world. A must stop when crossing Kansas.
Good pie
Just have the buffet and pie for dessert. You won't be disappointed. 5 minutes off of I-70. Closes at 2:00 PM.
This is a great place to eat, at wilson, ks. all homemade food.with home made ice cream and pie. watch for signs on I -70
Amazing food exactly as the name says, good amazing made from scratch food
Wonderful home made food!
While in middle of nowhere Kansas, came across this Made from Scratch restaurant and ordered a pound burger with fries, chocolate milk and ice cream. At first sight I was drooling like a bulldog when they brought me my food, and it was to die for. The ice cream was amazing as well. The service and my waiter were some of the most cheerful and kindhearted people I've ever met. The prices were great and the overall feeling of the place made feel at home. A great vibe and a great meal I'll never forget. Salute to you guys, your the bomb.
Good whole in the wall in the middle of nowhere. Loved the pies
The food here is so good and the pies are the best!!!
Great place to grab homemade food off 70. Friendly staff and super yummy food! Worth the 5 minute detour. Attached picture is the small Dutch apple pie and homemade vanilla icecream.
5 stars for the fresh made peanut butter pie and homemade ice cream. I read they have the best coconut meringue pie in the state, I'll have to come back to check that out. Food is kinda Sunday dinnerish. Off the beaten path small town. Largest egg photo shot down the block.
I love the food the restaurant has to offer. Homemade pies and all the food is excellent. If you like or love hot beefs, this is the place to stop and try one, don't forget the homemade pie!
Great homemade foods like grandma made.
Went on a sunday, late morning. Hardly greeted, had to ask twice for drinks, our order was never taken. Left money for our drinks and walked out. No one noticed.
Nice local cafe. Very nice people and very good food at a good price.
Very good home cooked meal. It was the German Buffet today top notch. Pie was great also with their I believe home made ice cream. Worth the drive from Wichita on a nice Saturday weather wise.
The potatoes and gravy was good ... but... the rolls were hard.. And I couldnt eat the coconut pie cause it was so sweet...
This is the pumpkin pie, dutch apple pie, and some homemade icecream. The food was great and desert was amazing.
If your in town, best eat out place for pie
Went for breakfast on a sunday morning. They only had buffet so they could get their lunch menu ready. However the food had sat there for a very long time and everything was inedible. They only had a few items to choose from. Pancakes were gummy, hash browns were cold, eggs had sat so long they were congealed, i did not try the biscuits and gravy...i dont eat them. There were 4 people in our party and everyone of us wished we had opted for toast at the hotel. The staff was friendly.
This place is amazing!! If you are driving down I70 and wonder if the +7min detour is worth it I can say....uh YES!! It is really homemade and delicious besides a full menu they have a lunch buffet, pies and ice cream. This is not your ok, average food people this is like my grandma use to cook and my belly is warm, full, and happy!!! My husband had a piece of the fresh out of the oven piece of buttered bread, his eyes glazed over and he said I haven't had bread like this since my grandma. We will definitely come back here oh also you can't leave out the super friendly and helpful staff!! I really can't say enough about this place.
Was delicious. Best mashed potatoes I've ever had out. Service was great and friendly. Highly recommend
Stopped while biking across Kansas #BAK2019. This restaurant was packed with cyclists and the staff did an amazing job! And...great food. Thank you!
Sat there with my pregnant wife and was ignored for 20 minutes. Tables around us with locals got service, but wasted our morning waiting on service that never came. Im pretty laid back but that was incredibly rude and unnecessary. Just wanted to enjoy some food but guess non local money isn't worth their time.
This cafe is the only local option I know for an early breakfast, but they fill the small town cafe niche perfectly. Homey, with personable staff, and fantastic food in generous portions (e.g. plate-sized pancake). Loved it!
Good food, come in and enjoy small town charm, while you wait. Not for those in a hurry.Homemade white bread is delicious
Loved this place! Such a nice home town restaurant with a nice country feel!
Amazing food. Truth in advertising, their name says it all. Best omelets I've ever had in a restaurant.
